Forget about Depilatory and Undergo Laser Hair Removal
Posted in Health and Fitness
Photothermolysis (system that uses laser device) is one of the most effective methods to remove hairs known to this day. Many hair removal products that can be found on the market mainly deal with unwanted hairs for a short time only. When we choose to undergo laser treatment, it is good to know which steps we should undertake during the process and after the treatment.
To remove hairs forever we must treat them with the process where light is absorbed into melanin of the hair. Important fact to note is that photothermolysis damages only those hairs, which have a lot of melanin, and these are darker hair. Thickness of hair is important as well, because if hair is thicker, therefore it has greater surface for absorption, light will be easier to absorb. Dark and thick hairs are the best to treat, so don’t attempt to go through laser procedure with blond hairs.
If we choose to undergo this treatment, we shouldn’t remove hairs by depilatory but by shaving only, and this at least one month before we start with the treatment. Do not apply anything on your skin the day your treatment begins – any sort of agents like lotions or gels. Do not tan either on the sun or in solarium, and do not use self-tanning agents either.
Hair growth goes through three separated stages. Only the active state of growth is appropriate for hair removal, which is why procedure must be repeated as hairs are in different phases at different times. Most commonly six to eight sessions will reduce hair almost completely.
Laser hair removal cost might get quite high with laser treatment, but it will also deliver satisfactory results that will last a long time. You should visit your cosmetician every year for a “touch-up”, because few hairs will still grow back as the result of hormonal activity even though those hairs will be much thinner, brighter and rarer.
